Mini Post: The Calm Before the Storm

As anyone with kids knows, there are varying degrees of cleanliness. I'd like to expound on that, alas I have 20 minutes before I have to meet husbands childhood friend, and I have yet to shower. No doubt this will be a quickie.

Daughter number 5 is a mess. I've posted about her before. I love her dearly, but she makes me want to pull my hair out. Or perhaps dig my eyes out with a spoon. She makes me nuts. Thank God for Effexor. And wine. Lots of it.

Today, daughters number 1 and 6 are cleaning 5's room. It's disgusting. Too disgusting to post a photo. Maybe we will get an after shot, haven't decided yet. The point is, #5 is 16 years old and has raging hormones. The news that her sisters cleaned her room will not be recieved with grace. Especially because I have agreed to pay these children to do it. Pay them a lot. But in truth, I'm paying for my sanity.

Anyway, will post more after number 5 see's her room. Stay on guard...

I can relate to #5..I'm kind of the same way, although I don't mind if someone picks my stuff up for me. I'd love to tell you she'll grow out of this slob phase, but she probably won't...as I'm still waiting on growing out of it.

Seaside: Thanks, please keep toes crossed as well

Hit40: The way husband feels about her right now she wont be able to get into her room to mess it up

Otin: I think it's important to sample the wares.

OP: I don't know. I was kinda a messy teen, but my god you would not belive the s&*^ that's been pulled out of that hell hole.

Yikes. . . at that age, it won't matter what you do, she's gonna be a real hot mess when she arrives!

You cannot put a price on sanity. It's worth every penny.

When telling her please stand as far back as possible...then lunge if you have to!

scoop your eyes out with a spoon? That's pretty vivid imagery! I hope the room was up to your standards in the end - or that there was plenty of wine to hand!

PS: she was much calmer than I expected. Of course she's grounded for pretty much eternity. More on that later.

IceQ: I'm not sure. After what I found I think my sanity has diminished some...

Lore: I texted her and told her I did it. She just said "thanks...?"

O: haha thanks. That's about how I feel sometimes. But yes, the room is perfect. We'll see how long it lasts...
