Happy Hour Friday

If you've been hanging around for a while then you know that Otie and I host a Happy Hour every Friday. Otie has the Mr Linky at his site (yeah, I let him have control of it, kinda like the remote, you know the guy has to hold it to feel manly).

  • I never thought I'd be a three-a-day poster... but here I am. My first post today was the letter to the asswipe ex chiropractor. My second post today was the one where I said that since it was my hubby's birthday I took down the letter to the asswipe ex chiropractor because he was afraid we'd get sued. And now here is post #3 today. Sorry I'm overloading your Google Reader, it's not like me.
  • It's my hubby's birthday! I let him choose dinner (pasta con broccoli and garlic bread) and I made my extra-super-duper-ultra-fabulous pumpkin cheesecake. It's his favorite dessert. I meant to take pictures while I was baking it but I didn't. Sorry.
  • He likes the gifts I got him. 2 books: Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives  and 1000 Places to See Before Before You Die. I also bought him 3 pairs of reader glasses because he always breaks his or puts them in the wash or whatever.
  • When we were flipping thru the 1000 Places there were several that I had already visited
  • I bought my neighbors' Christmas gifts today. If you were my neighbor I'd buy you one too. Unless you are that shit ex doc I was talking about. Who, fyi, is also my neighbor. Yeah. 4 houses down. Niiiiiiiice.
  • I'm done talking about it. Really.
  • My birthday is 3 weeks from today. Or yesterday. It depends. Thursday. What are you gonna get me? I like diamonds. And sparkly stuff. Well, sparkly diamonds.
  • Tommy is doing A.W.E.S.O.M.E. Go check him out at Barb's site.
  • This weekend we are making Christmas cookies. A lot of them. And I plan on eating a lot of them. Actually that's not true. I plan on eating a lot of the dough. Raw. It's what I do.
  • Okay, I think I'm done here. Besides, Otie hates it when I have too much wine at Happy Hour.
  • Go see him if you haven't already, and be sure to check out the other bloggers that are playing along.
  • Cheers!!

Almost a bit ironic that you buy someone a book that is about a thousand places to see, and then you have to buy glasses so that he can see the book! hahaha!

Santa says hi! I put him away for the night! :)

3 posts in one day! wow!

Have a happy friday!

Pasta con broccoli! My hubs orders that every time when we go to The Olive Garden.

I've never been able to eat raw dough. I'm afraid I make up for it with the baked cookies though.

read the forbidden post...you're right he is an asswipe. my favorite part is where he said the doc works for him! Ha! what a looser!
pumpkin cheesecake sounds soooo good!
Happy bday to the hubs! enjoy your wine!

I would love your recipe for your extra-super-duper-ultra-fabulous pumpkin cheesecake. Pretty Please? You could always give your ex doc neighbor some eggs and deliver them after a few bottles of wine, all over the front of his house. (I know, I'm so immature!)
Happy Friday!

Hugs!!

I too would like the recipe, so someday someone can make it for me!

I missed the letter. Darn it.

Is it possible that we are married to the same man? My husband always loses his reading glasses and loves the Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives show almost as much as he loves to travel. Happy Birthday to your man!

Hey, sometimes you just have to get it all off your chest and in this case, we benefit!

Happy birthday to hubby, sounds like he got everything he wanted!

All this talk of food this morning. I missed breakfast and now I have to listen to cookie dough and mini cupcakes.

I guess I'm running to Target in a minute.

Otie: You put Santa to bed for the night? Wow. I had no idea you were that gentle. :) And yep, it's funny about the glasses, but not to him. When we started dating 7 years ago he didn't need them. Oh well. I like men in glasses. Really. Kinda like kilts.

Matty: thank you from hubby. you'll have to wish me happy birthday plenty more times before it actually gets here so I'll save my thanks. And yeah, Otie doesn't like drunk posts. Debbie Downer.

Willow: Thanks! I'm sure he'll love the name :)

BV: my PCB is better! Okay maybe not, but I bet it's at least a tad less fattening. I eat the dough til I'm sick, then I eat the cookies til I'm sick again. It's a beautiful thing.

Tori: yeah I was gonna tell you it was probably still in google reader. glad you found it. And thanks for the b-day wish

GEM: I will post it! But if I forget, remind me and I'll email it to ya. About the eggs, trust me I thought of all that stuff, but it would just make me look as bad as him. darn it. It would be nice if we could do *something* tho.

Mr C: ditto to GEM. I'll try to get it posted this weekend but if I forget email me

Beth: I kinda hope we aren't married to the same man, but it would take some of the pressure off, huh? Thanks for the b-day wishes :)

Brian: it was low-key, but that's what he likes so I guess it was good. Cookies always make me happy.

Gaston: I do feel better about the whole thing. And thanks for the b-day wish for hubby. He got *almost* everything he wanted (wink wink )

Joshua: target for cookie dough? Hmmm okay. I never EVER miss breakfast. It's the most important meal of the day you know!

I do know. And now I have York peppermint patties and Power-C VitaminWater. And a Heath bar for later. Score!

Josh: I live York peppermint patties! They are awesome. I like to keep a bag in the freezer for emergencies ;)

OP: thanks! and it's pretty cool and has lots of recipes that look amazing.

Barb: no, he just asked what I did with the money...

Smiles: get that vodka tonic out!

IQ: I'm not done yet, so don't get stressed. It'll be okay.

Spud: You are my hero! Hooray and Thank you thank you!

OT: Oh I can still eat the dough. Mmmm mmmm mmmm.

Lordana: glad I gave you some inspiration about the book. Hubby likes it.

GEM: daughter already offered to do that, but I told her no...

Kimi: thank you!

Dear Pharmacist,

I gotta admit, I'm a bit let down that you don't give Rx sample packs for gifts. (That would be sooo much better, fyi.) But pumpkin cheesecake might be acceptable alternative. Maybe.

Love,
Michel

PS do you at least get YOURSELF a sample pack?? If not, will you please get ME a sample pack for my christmas gift? I know I put cash on my list, which you probably already went out to get me, but still....that would be fun.

pps please make sure xanax is one of the samples. I hate my new boss.

Remind me next year to come to your house for Birthday Dinner - the pasta con broccoli and garlic bread sounds awesome, as does the extra-super-duper-ultra-fabulous pumpkin cheesecake. Happy Birthday to your hubby - another December baby! :)

So does that mean you're a New Year's Eve baby? ;)

Happy HHF a day late! :)

rxBambi said...

Ann: Thank you so much and welcome to my humble little world :)

Michel: I think rx sample gift packs are a great idea and I will be sure to fill yours with xanax and other good stuff.

stacy: You are definitely invited for next year. Yes hubby and I are both december birthdays and I am the 31st :)
