The Favorites

Do you remember in my last post where I said I was a doer but not a creator? Well, that goes for this post as well. I think McGillicutty started it, then Barb and Open Heart followed suit, so I decided I needed to copy them. Plus I have some pretty good favorites. So here are some of my favorite Christmas ornaments.

These are Mr and Mrs Bambi, they were one of the first ornaments hubby and I got as a married couple.

This is another on that we got that first Christmas. It has the names of all the kiddos. I couldn't find an ornament big enough to have all 8 of our names on it.

This snowman is a favorite of mine because my mom made it. I have several others that she made as well; lollipops, presents, Christmas trees, Rudolphs, etc.

This carousel goes in my favorites list because I've had it since I was a wee tot. It has 'Susie' engraved on it. I'm not sure why it doesn't say Bambi.

I love this ornament because it has a picture of my sweet little girlies in it. Who wouldn't love that?

I love my Scottish Santa. He's in a kilt.

Although these last two aren't ornaments, I love having red bows and candy canes on my tree. I love how the colors pop.

How about you? Do you have favorite ornaments?

It appears that each of your ornaments, like mine, have a story. I think that is cool. Plus each year I give each of the kids a new ornament to commemorate something special they did that year. With five kids, that makes a lot of ornaments! Last year I started taking pictures of the ornaments so that someday I will have a book that will tell the story, hoping that at least one of the kids will continue the tradition. Ahhh. It is my favorite time of the year...

Oooooh! Those are so pretty! I love your favorite ornaments! I have some bells like the ones in the first picture. I have no idea where they are. Isn't that weird? Time to turn the house upside down and shake it (again!) until my bells fall out!

:)
Happy Friday!

Hugs!!

Wonderful ornaments! This is a great idea for a post. I might have to give it a whirl myself, that is as soon as I get around to putting up the tree! ;^)

How fun! I've been posting the progress of my Alice in Wonderland trees on Cabbages and Kings. I love to see other people's trees, so thx for posting this! I'm going to check out the others' as well. Peace, kitty

Look at all those kids in a row! Are you sure your name isn't really Brady? LOL!

Your tree ornaments are pretty. They make the tree look cozy.

We have some ornaments from years ago. Family made things, and of course a Phillies ball.

I especially love your carousel ornament!

I don't think I've ever put bows on the tree but I love to put candy canes on there!

I love how you did a post on your ornaments. Christmas holds so many memories and ornaments can tell the story of them!
Love to you and yours.

Wait, are you telling me your tree is up and decorated? I'm impressed.

Favorite ornaments...okay, I have to admit this, I'm an ornament snob if there is such a thing. I have a pretty big selection of glass blown ornaments (e.g. Christopher Radko). I think my favorite ones came from my ex MIL - a small rabbit and a ballerina (there was a male dancer with top hat - it represented me and the ex and given to us our 1st xmas - strange, the male character suddenly broke after our divorce - go figure).
