Growling from the Grotto

****Update****
She apologized for being such a *&^* but still rode her bike to her boyfriends house...Oh well. I'll take the apology :)

Ok here's the deal. You are 14 years old and your life sucks. This is my perspective:

1. I woke you up at 7am to tell you I'm leaving for the airport to pick up Bob. You said "ok"

2. I called your cell on the way home. You didn't answer.

3. I texted you...you didn't reply.

4. I knew you wanted to go to breakfast, so I went home specifically to get you and when I woke you up you said "no, I don't want to go"

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT call me 15 minutes later yelling at me for not waking you up. I tried. Furthermore, I don't care if you "have to get out of here" it's pouring down rain. You are not riding your bike to "get away" from me.

One last thing, if your life sucks so bad, how about giving me your cell phone, your laptop, all your American Eagle and Abercrombie clothes, your Chucks, your jewelry, your books, your weekly allowance (which you don't really deserve anyway).

Then we'll see how badly your life sucks. Sheesh. No wonder why I'm cranky.
Where's that clary sage?? http://thefragrantmuse.blogspot.com/2009/05/fragrant-friday-clary-sage-salvia.html

ps- can someone please tell me how you link things in the text?

in compose mode highlight the text you want the link on click on the link icon (it's the little green circle with the chain,) in the popup window type in the link url.

my sons are exactly the same, after asking if he wanted to go with me yesterday three times and him saying no all three times, he called me 10 minutes after i left saying 'i wanted to go, whyadda leave...'

Thanks iasa, it worked. And I'm glad my kids arent the only irrational beings on the planet! They are actually really good kids, I think we are just in a phase. Lucky for them it's when I'm new to blogging and everyone gets to hear about it. LOL :)

sorry about the 14-year-old. i'm trying to remember to enjoy my 8-year-old while i can. :-)

and the link thing is in your compose screen...if you're using blogger in draft (which all the cool kids are), you select and then click on "link" and paste in the URL you want to link to.

:-)

When I was about 14, I got into an argument with my Mother and said,"no wonder Dad left you." When we were 14 we knew not what we were saying, or even how to say it. My mom went in her room and cried and I grabbed my baseball glove and went outside to play, just a kid, I guess.

I have an 8 year old and cringe at stories like this...I know they're coming and there's nothing I can do about it. I guess you just have to take it as it comes and do the best you can. I know easy for me to say when I've never been through it.

After reading this, I think I am going to send my urologist who preformed my vasectomy another case of Scotch!
Bambi we have a saying down here in Memphis - "A mother brought a child into this world and has the right to take them out too!"

Being somewhat still a kid myself- I have to agree with Otin. Everything always had to be this big production! My life sucks this.... I hate the world that.... you know. I blame it on High School. Luckly my phase of hating life only lasted about a few months. Then I decided to grow up.
Now, it might not take "just a few months" my sisters lasted for years. Things eventually will turn around (my sister has grown up quite nicely)and you will totally forget about these times when she asks you to come hang out with her on Mom's weekend when she is in college :)

You never know how good you had it till you become a mother yourself (so the saying goes at any rate). Maybe to even the karma you can do something nice for your mother and hope your daughter will do the same when she has kids of her own.

I love the label you put on this blog.. very funny!
