Happy Hour Friday

Can you believe it is friday again? The weeks just seem to fly by these days, don't they?

Have you been watching the Olympics? I know some of you have because I've seen the tweets (umm yeah CBT, Doc, and Jay... I mean you). I've been watching in the evenings and really enjoying it. I guess one reason why I'm so in awe is because I am such a mediocre athlete. I played sports in school; volleyball, basketball, softball... but I was usually on the B team. Even when I got to the varsity team I was still not the best. You also have to take into consideration that I was at an all girl school with a graduating class of 48. I ran cross-country a couple years and did well in that. I wasn't the fastest, but I was in the top 5 or so. I can ice skate, but not well. I can kind of ski -- I like to think of myself as a Bunny Hill Master. I think one of my issues is that I am too laid back, too type B. I don't tend to stress about things in general, much less about being the "best" at something. Hubs is a very competitive athlete, as are his girls. I just don't have that drive, tho I admire people who do and occasionally wish I had a little of that 'oomph' in my step. If you know how to go about getting that be sure to let me know.

Today I was running, well trying to run, and my pants kept falling down. Not literally, but I kept having to hike them up. It was annoying. Finally I just said 'screw it' and went and bought some new work-out clothes. Shopping makes me happy.

Fourteen days until my vacation. Hallelujah. I've been using a tanning lotion on my legs so I hopefully won't blind anyone when I put on my bikini shorts. I just hope our cruise isn't full of young hooligans on spring break wreaking havoc on my vacation. Good GOD, not only am I my mother but I think I've turned into my father as well. Someone go get me a bowl of ice cream and a southern comfort manhattan with a twist and a cherry. Okay, unless you knew my dad you probably didn't get that, but it was funny dammit.

Well, I've been staring at my mac for a while now and I guess this is going to be it for tonight. Have a great happy hour. Don't forget to belly up to the bar and have a round on me.

Cheers y'all (that was for Ali)

I can't do any of those winter sports or activities. I can't ice skate or ski or whatever. But, I'm thinking I could handle curling. I mean, I might have to work out for a couple of weeks, but I think I could do it.

I used to be really competitive. But, as I got older, and drank more, I got more laid back about things. ;-)

I'm watching some of the Olympics here and there. Nothing special that I'm interested in though. You can snow ski which is more than I can say. I've never even tried it. I am fairly competitive, but I think it's more of a personality trait. You either have it or you don't, and there's nothing wrong with either.

Maybe the pants falling down is a good sign.

Take lots of pictures on vacation.

After working the Olympics in Atlanta and seeing how they actually hate each other, I quit watching it. I'm a type A personality until I get my way, then I turn into a type B. And I'll take a Jack rocks.

I used to be pretty active, but when I became a mom, I got really cautious (I simply could not see me doing the mom thing with a broken leg).

Hope you have a great weekend!

Cheers...

The cruise sounds wonderful. What type of tanning lotion do you use because inquiring minds wanna know.

Shopping makes me happy too, did you find any deals?

I suck at all sports and always wished I was athletic. maybe that's why I married an athlete. but alas of all our offspring- only one got his genes and I feel I always need to applogize for my sucky genes to the other kids and the hubby.

UGH! I linked up, but misspelled by url the first time. Then, when I redid it, it didn't look like it would let me use the same name again. So I used SassyGinger. Now all 3 of them are there! Sorry. Doesn't make me happy. Can't figure out how to fix it!

I'm SO jealous of your cruise I can't stand it! And don't worry, all the models use the self tanning lotion, so you're in good company!

i'm not even a bunny slope master. the first time i went skiing, i was so afraid to go down the hill, my uncle had to push me to get me started... and i proceeded to ski right into the pole that holds up the chair lift.

yeah, that was a shining moment in sports history.

I would be so happy to run and my pants fall down because it may mean that the torture chamber is actually working!! Although being a spectator watching someone else running with loose pants would make me happier!!

I bet that my tweets are funnier than those other people! Did I give permission for you and the Boss to leave town? Where you going?
Oh and I can't wait for Mixed pairs and those butch male skaters too!

The only part of the Olympics I'm interested starts with Apolo and ends with Ohno.
;-)

I'm jealous of your cruise--you're going to have a blast. Good call on the tanning cream. What kind do you like? I have some of that Jergens foam (I find it spreads out more evenly than the cream), but curious to hear what others like...

so, if your pants were falling down does that mean you are smaller then when you bought the pants originally :)

I cant play any sport. Or at least not well.

Shopping is awesome! It always makes me happy too.

I've been really enjoying the winter sports, even though I never participate in any of them myself.

I'm still jealous of your impending cruise. Think I can be a stowaway? ;)

My pants were falling down at Zumba yesterday. It was hard to get my groove on while I was yanking on them.

Geez, am I late to the party or what? I have been so wrapped up in house cleaning.

I am not interested in the winter olympics anymore. They seem to have lost their appeal, almost like blogging! LOL!

You are going on a cruise? Very Nice!

I have watched some of the Olympics, but as someone who sees skow once a year it is hard for me to get into all this. I much prefer the summer games.
